Johann Knapp (1778-1810) was an Austrian courtpainter who documented the botanic stock of the imperial gardens and greenhouses. In his precise Panelpaintings he portrayed domestic aswell as exotic flowers and fruits. He managed to accomplish an extensiv collection, which was continued by his son Joseph (1810-1867), after his death.
