Jakob Lena Knebl (* 1970 in Baden) studied fashion with Raf Simons at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and textual sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Heimo Zobernig. In her practice, she deals with the history of art and design as well as socio-cultural phenomena and makes it possible to experience in a sensual way how these fields influence and transform our identity. Knebl is a professor of transmedia art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and also works as an artist-curator. Students of the Transmedia Art class will also be represented in the MAK's permanent collection Vienna 1900 with their intervention "Transmediale 1900" until October 20, 2024.
